China will become a major producer and exporter of matting agents.
According to a report by HC Paint Raw Materials Network, over the 11-year period from 2000 to 2011, China’s matting agent production capacity increased from 340,000 tons per year to 2.62 million tons per year, while output rose from 310,000 tons per year to 1.812 million tons per year—nearly half of global production. Both capacity and output grew at an annual average rate exceeding 15%, significantly outpacing the global average growth rate during the same period, making China the world’s largest producer and consumer of matting agents.
